The city where I dreamed of living my life.
The city where my dreams came true.
An ancient tree grows at the foot of Hagia Sophia; my acquaintance with the city began with it and became my place of power.
I depicted my personal story of friendship and trust in my beloved city of Istanbul.
And for the viewer it can be its own story, its own associative series.
Art gives everyone the opportunity to use their imagination and go on their own journey of memory, remember their personal experiences or determine their future direction.

The artwork «The Compass» was created individually for Swissotel Bosporus. Mandala is included in the basis of the idea, form and composition.

Its geometric shape symbolizes order in the spiritual, cosmic and emotional aspects. İn ancient times it served as a symbol of a kind of navigation and showed the way for believers to sacred places. In Sanskrit, the word “mandala” symbolizes “circle”, since it has a concentric structure, despite the fact that it may be based on squares or triangles. The mandala symbolizes the desire for the spiritual center. The painting depicts the central sun, the outer circle symbolizes the heavens, the energy of the Universe.
